Weighted Type Pressure Relief Valves

Weighted relief valves are available for pressure systems only. They must be mounted in a vertical upright orientation to function properly. A cap rides over a vented piston that forces the cap up as pressure builds. Many customers prefer these weighted relief valves due to their ease of operation and simple maintenance.

Weighted Type Pressure Relief Valves

A relief pressure valve provides protection for your positive displacement blower or vacuum pump. As the service line air pressure reaches the pressure setting, the weight loaded cap is forced upwards off the valve seat. As the pressure increases, the cap rises to expose the discharge ports. The flow through capacity of the relief pressure valve is such it will relieve the pressure to the desired set point and prevent damage to the blower and other appurtenances. The purpose of the weighted relief valve is to prevent over pressurization of your unit which can and will cause damage and/or failure.
