MaxQ 2″ Spring-Loaded Blower Pressure Relief Valves

Spring relief valves are the most common option for protecting blower systems due to their ease of use and low cost. MaxQ spring relief valves from pdblowers are made in the USA at our Gainesville, GA production facility using American materials. The aluminum valve has type II anodization to provide corrosion resistance and wear protection. Valves are factory set between 3 PSIG through 15 PSIG.

MATERIAL: The valve is made from American materials and meets Build America Buy America Act requirements. The valve body is made from 6061 T-6 American aluminum with a type II anodization coating. The stem is 360 American Brass ASTM B16 and the spring and set screws are stainless steel (Spring 302 ASTM A313; Set Screws 18-8).

OPERATION: Inside the body a spring pushes on the disc preventing air (or gas) from escaping as long as it operates below the set pressure. If the air pressure exceeds the pressure of the spring, the disc will rise allowing the air to escape until the pressure returns below the limit. The valve must be sized properly to allow the venting of the excessive flow. If the valve is undersized, excessive pressure could remain in the service line.

INSTALLATION: Prepare the valve by applying a thread sealant to the threaded nozzle of the valve, such as pipe dope or Teflon tape. Do not put thread sealant on the first thread to prevent sealant from entering the valve. Thread the valve into the pipe fitting, using a crescent wrench if needed on the wrench flats only. Do not overtighten.

MAINTENANCE: During any regular service of the system, perform a visual inspection to ensure the vent openings of the valve are not obstructed. At least once per year, use the ring to pull up on the stem and confirm that the valve can open.
